A tense moment played out during Naira Marley’s recent performance in Cotonou, Benin Republic, after a man suddenly ran onto the stage in what appeared to be an attempt to attack the singer.
In a viral video from the concert, the Marlian Music boss was mid-performance when the intruder rushed toward him. Security operatives, including his associate Sam Larry, swiftly subdued the man and escorted him off the stage, allowing the show to continue.
The footage quickly spread online, sparking heated debate among fans. While some believed the incident was genuine, others dismissed it as a publicity stunt.
Reacting to the clip, Naira Marley reposted it on his X (formerly Twitter) page with a playful caption:
“The moment I got attacked on stage 😂😂😂😂 see baba oninu re.”
However, not everyone was convinced. Social media users flooded the comments with skepticism:
@GuyMr0: “I know a script when I see one 😂.”
@Ejigzz: “How am I sure this is not staged too? Eh fine boy.”
_joelad: “Dem attack you? Abi you quick do skit make you blow? 😂.”
The incident comes just weeks after Naira Marley publicly addressed lingering controversies surrounding the death of his former signee, Mohbad, who passed away in September 2023 at the age of 27. Mohbad’s death ignited the #Justice4MohBad movement, which continues to demand accountability and answers from those allegedly linked to the tragedy.
