Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has made her long-awaited comeback with the release of a new album, This One Is Personal, her first full-length project in five years.
The 15-track album, which dropped on Friday, explores themes of pain, growth, and resilience, blending Afrobeats with a deeply personal touch.
Announcing the project on X, Savage wrote:
“This project is so close to my heart, and I poured every part of me into it. I just pray you receive it with the same love I created it with. Please cherish it, because #ThisOneIsPersonal.”
The album was recorded across Nashville, London, and Lagos, with carefully selected collaborations. UK rapper Skepta features on On the Low, rising star Taves joins on Addicted, while Grammy-nominated singer James Fauntleroy appears on Change.
Speaking in a fan Q&A earlier this week, Savage explained that the limited features were “very intentional,” chosen to complement the album’s intimacy and vision.
“It’s less about numbers and more about connection,” she said.
The project was executive produced by Tiwatops Savage, Vannessa Amadi-Ogbonna, and MystroSugar, with A&R handled by Kolawole Omoboriowo and Sak Pase.
Since its release, fans worldwide have flooded social media with the hashtag #ThisOneIsPersonal, celebrating Savage’s return and engaging with her about the stories behind each track.
