Marlian Records boss, Naira Marley, has disclosed that the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, often directed him to make payments into his partner’s mother’s bank account instead of his own.

In a recent interview, Naira Marley recounted that Mohbad first contacted him on November 16, 2020, while receiving treatment for malaria. Barely a month later, on December 21, 2020, the singer provided an account bearing the name Adesanya Justina Olajumoke and insisted that all payments be made into it.

According to Marley, Mohbad continued to use the same account for subsequent transactions on December 30, 2020, December 31, 2020, and January 25, 2021. Each time, he maintained that the account belonged to his mother.

However, the Marlian Records boss said he became suspicious when he realised the name did not match that of Mohbad’s mother, whose name is Abosede. He later concluded that the account belonged to the mother of Mohbad’s partner, Wunmi.

“I was surprised because the name wasn’t his mum’s. His mother’s name is Abosede, but he kept insisting I pay into that account. Eventually, I found out it was Wunmi’s mother’s account. I even called him over to my place to ask what was going on,” Marley explained.
