Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has stirred conversations with his recent remark that single mothers cannot fully raise male children into men without a father figure.
Speaking in an interview with Okay 101.7 FM, Accra, Ghana, Iyke argued that women, by nature, are built to nurture and show affection, but a boy needs consistent male influence and discipline to grow into manhood.
“A woman can’t raise a man properly,” he said. “There has to be a male presence – a father, brother, or any trusted man – to guide him. Without that, you risk raising a weak man who may mirror the same flaws of absent men.”
He emphasized that beyond love and care, boys require firm correction, structure, and mentorship from men to be adequately shaped for adulthood.
