Controversial activist Verydarkman has debunked claims suggesting that singer Davido has financially supported him.
In a recent Instagram post, he clarified that he has never received a single kobo from the DMW boss. Addressing ongoing speculations, he insisted that many of the gestures often credited to Davido were actually his own efforts.
Verydarkman revealed that when he traveled to Lagos to visit Davido, he personally paid for his flight and hotel accommodation. Despite public assumptions that Davido sponsored the trip or supported his NGO, he maintained that neither the artist nor his team had given him any money.
He explained:
“Anytime I talk about Davido, people say, ‘After all Davido has done for you — he flew you to Lagos, he sponsored your NGO.’ But when I visited Lagos to meet him, I paid for my flight. I paid for the hotel people assumed Davido booked for me. We allowed the narrative fly just for entertainment purposes.”
His remarks come amid growing discussions around celebrity affiliations and financial backing.
