Ondo Woman Arrested for Fatally Stabbing Boyfriend During Dispute Over Infidelity

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a young woman, Augustina Mowari, over the alleged killing of her boyfriend, Michael Ikuedowoni, during a domestic dispute in Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on Sunday after an argument between the couple escalated. Augustina reportedly stabbed Michael with a pair of scissors during the heated altercation, which was allegedly triggered by suspicions of cheating.

State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olayinka Ayanlade, stated that the suspect is currently in police custody and that a full investigation is underway. “There was a dispute between the two individuals, during which the suspect stabbed the victim. He later died at the hospital,” Ayanlade said. He added that the matter will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.

A source familiar with the couple revealed that the two had been living together in a one-room apartment and had a history of trust-related issues. The source, who requested anonymity, said the argument began after Augustina accused Michael of being unfaithful.

“The disagreement escalated into a physical fight. She picked up a pair of scissors and stabbed him in the leg,” the source explained.

Michael was initially treated at a nearby hospital and discharged after receiving injections and medication. However, his health reportedly deteriorated later that evening. His leg became swollen, and he was rushed back to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead despite medical intervention.

The tragic incident has sparked shock within the local community, with many calling for a thorough investigation and justice for the deceased.
