The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to infrastructure development with plans to complete five key road projects in Alimosho Local Government Area before the close of 2025.

According to a statement on Wednesday, the projects include the rehabilitation of the Ijegun–Ijagemo Road, construction of the Ile Eja road network—comprising Ile Eja, Olaiya, Ajibola Hassan–Alhaji Mustapha, Olu Adeyanju (with a bridge), and Rabiatu Ogedengbe—as well as the Akesan–Igando Road.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Olufemi Daramola, who led an inspection tour on Tuesday, expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of work. He explained that the initiative aligns with Lagos State’s comprehensive transport and connectivity master plan.

“These roads, being developed with drainage systems, pedestrian walkways, and street lighting, will significantly cut travel time, improve mobility, and enhance the living standards of residents,” the statement added.

Local leaders in the communities praised the government for its intervention while requesting that the Ijegun–Ijagemo Road be extended to connect with the LASU–Ojo Expressway to further improve regional access.

The Managing Director of the construction firm handling the 5km dual carriageway at Ijegun–Ijagemo, Alex Tang-Li, assured that the project would be delivered by November 2025, complete with modern facilities.

The government stressed that these road projects will reduce traffic congestion across the Alimosho corridor and stimulate economic activity in the region.
