Harry Kane netted a brace as Bayern Munich overcame Brazilian side Flamengo 4-2 to book their place in the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-finals, where they will now meet Paris Saint-Germain.

The German champions wasted no time asserting dominance, going ahead in the sixth minute when Erick Pulgar inadvertently diverted Joshua Kimmich’s corner into his own goal.

Shortly after, Kane extended the lead with a powerful left-footed strike from outside the box following a high press and interception by Dayot Upamecano.

Flamengo threatened to get back into the game when Luiz Araujo forced a save from Manuel Neuer, and they eventually found the net through Gerson, narrowing the scoreline to 2-1.

However, Bayern responded swiftly before the break as Leon Goretzka took advantage of a defensive lapse to fire home from long range, restoring a two-goal cushion.

Early in the second half, Flamengo reduced the deficit again. Jorginho converted a penalty after a handball was called against Michael Olise during a corner situation.

Despite the pressure, Kane struck again late in the match, curling in a composed finish from the edge of the area to seal victory and confirm Bayern’s progression.

Up next for Bayern is a heavyweight quarter-final showdown with French giants PSG later in the week.
