“Why May Should Drop Yul Edochie’s Name” — Actress Esther Nwachukwu Speaks Out

Nollywood actress Esther Nwachukwu, popularly known as Esther Sky, has publicly advised May Edochie, the estranged wife of actor Yul Edochie, to drop his surname amid ongoing family tensions.

In a video shared online, Nwachukwu suggested that May should legally dissociate herself from the Edochie name, arguing that doing so could bring her peace and allow her to fully embrace her individual identity.

“With all due respect, drop Yul Edochie’s name so there can be peace,” she said. “Even if your documents still carry the name, go to court and change it. There’s nothing special about it.”

Her comments come following a recent online fallout involving May, after Yinka — the new wife of Linc Edochie (Yul’s brother) — allegedly shared May’s personal phone number online, escalating tensions within the family.

Esther Nwachukwu further alleged that Yul’s siblings have turned against May, claiming internal family discussions are being used to target her.

“Yul’s entire family has planned against her. His siblings and brothers have all been bought. Otherwise, how would Linc’s wife come online to attack Queen May unprovoked?” she added.

This isn’t the first time May has been advised to sever ties with the Edochie name. Earlier, controversial relationship therapist Blessing CEO also suggested that May should “step out of Yul’s shadow” and build her own legacy.

The rift between May and Yul began after the actor introduced a second wife, actress Judy Austin, sparking public backlash and deepening the family divide. Despite the controversies, May has continued to receive widespread support on social media for her composure and strength.
