Tinubu Celebrates Awele Elumelu at 55, Praises Her Impact in Health and Empowerment

President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Awele Elumelu, Chairperson of Avon Healthcare Limited, as she marks her 55th birthday.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President commended Dr. Elumelu for her exceptional contributions to national progress, particularly in the fields of healthcare, women and youth empowerment, and philanthropy.

Describing her as a “distinguished medical doctor, dedicated wife and mother, and compassionate leader,” Tinubu applauded her long-standing commitment to improving lives, especially among underserved communities.

The President praised her leadership at Avon Healthcare and her role as CEO of Avon Medical Practice, acknowledging her efforts to increase access to affordable and quality medical care across Nigeria and other parts of Africa.

He also highlighted her global impact through her past appointment as a Private Sector Champion for Immunisation in Africa under Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, where she helped expand immunisation access to millions of children across the continent.

Beyond her work in healthcare, Tinubu admired Elumelu’s dedication to fitness and healthy living, citing her active participation in marathons both locally and internationally as a source of inspiration to many.
