Media personality Coach Oleju Kate has stirred online debate after publicly stating that she would not marry a man who is not actively involved in church service or does not believe in paying tithes.
In a video shared on social media, the coach and influencer outlined her personal convictions regarding marriage and faith, emphasizing that her ideal partner must be dedicated to church duties and committed to biblical giving principles.
“If you’re not serving in any department in your church, or you’re not serving as a steward anywhere, you cannot marry me. If you don’t believe in tithe as a man, I don’t believe that I’m your wife,” she said in the now-viral video.
Her statement quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions on X (formerly Twitter), where users weighed in on her standards.
While some praised her for standing firm in her Christian values, others criticized what they perceived as rigid or superficial requirements.
@DAllSeeinRetina mocked, “With this face, she still wants to be selective?”
@powerchibueze commented, “She is basically saying she wants a born-again Christian. She made her point clearly.”
@fc_acct added, “My problem is the any she added. My dear, your options aren’t that many with those features.”
@tboss_guy remarked, “Sounding too ‘spirikoko’ has left many women in their late 30s searching for a God-fearing man. Church work doesn’t guarantee character.”
Some social media users defended her stance, noting that alignment in faith and values is important in any relationship, especially marriage.
The conversation continues to trend as the video circulates online.
