Popular Nigerian TikTok content creator, Jarvis, has shared emotional details about her struggles before rising to fame and success.

In a recent interview, Jarvis opened up about the challenges she faced growing up, revealing that her path to recognition was far from easy. She recounted how she had to take on responsibilities at a young age, working multiple jobs to survive.

“At a young age, I became a man. Maybe that’s why it’s so difficult for me to act like a lady—because I was forced to be a man. I had to start doing things early, working under people. Salesgirl? I’m the queen of salesgirls. Do you know how many people I worked under? I’m sure when my former bosses see me now, they’ll smile and say, ‘That’s my girl.’”

Jarvis’ candid confession sparked mixed reactions online. While some sympathized with her experience, others questioned the depth of her hardship.

Here are a few reactions:

  • @ayo.j.cross: “Which suffer this girl suffer?”
  • @iclass_photography: “How old is she? Nigeria don start again. Everyone becomes a motivational speaker once things start working out.”
  • @iam_djricky: “If I talk my own, she go Google how to cry. Real people who suffered don’t even talk about it.”
  • @kemisola_mi: “So doing what you’re supposed to do is now ‘being a man’? So only men are meant to suffer?”
  • @victory.cassh: “I always believe every successful person has a story. Even if I don’t know it, I know it wasn’t easy.”

Jarvis’s story serves as a reminder that many success stories are built on resilience, and that each person’s struggle is valid—regardless of how it appears to outsiders.
