Peter Okoye, one-half of the defunct music duo P-Square, has taken to social media to accuse his brothers, Paul and Jude Okoye, of betrayal and deliberate efforts to damage his reputation in their ongoing legal battle involving royalties.

In a series of posts on his Instagram Story, Peter reacted to claims reportedly made in court by Jude Okoye’s lawyer, who alleged that Peter had provided false information to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Fuming at what he described as a smear campaign, Peter alleged that his brothers’ publicist was working to paint him as dishonest.

“Exactly what I was talking about: their publicist doing everything for me to look like a liar… I am not May D or Cynthia Morgan; I am Peter Okoye… The truth shall surely prevail. Una thief abi una no thief?” he wrote.

Referencing past artists who had public fallouts with the Okoyes—May D and Cynthia Morgan—Peter suggested he would no longer remain silent like them.

He also said that the events surrounding late singer Mohbad’s death influenced his decision to stop “being the bigger person.”

“After watching everything about Mohbad’s death… I decided I would never play the bigger person nor act as the mature one… Never again.”

Peter further claimed he was manipulated during the P-Square reunion in November 2021, saying he now feels used and betrayed by his family.

“Only to find out that I was actually used… But since we are in court, I will wait for the right time to tell what really went down. Family doesn’t steal from family. Una thief abi una no thief?”

The legal battle between the Okoye brothers, reportedly related to royalties and financial disagreements, continues to draw public attention.
