Olamide Teases Fans with the Upcoming Release of ”Ikigai Vol. 2”

Nigerian music legend Olamide is getting fans buzzing with excitement after hinting at the release of Ikigai Vol. 2. Following the recent success of his freestyle “Idan Buruku,” the Grammy-nominated rapper took to X to respond to a fan who expressed disappointment that the track was too short. In his reply, Olamide promised that the much-anticipated Ikigai Vol. 2 is “almost here.”

The first installment of Ikigai, which translates to “a reason to live” in Japanese, was a massive hit. With tracks like “Metaverse,” “Habibi,” and “Uptown Disco” featuring Asake and Fireboy, the EP showcased Olamide’s growth and versatility. The project was his 10th solo release and a testament to his ability to evolve with the culture while staying true to his roots.

In 2024 alone, Olamide released Ikigai, made guest appearances on several tracks with artists like Shallipopi, Zlatan, and Alpha P, and further solidified his place as one of Nigeria’s greatest music icons. Beyond his solo success, he remains a powerhouse as the head of YBNL, the label that launched the careers of stars like Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold, Fireboy, and Asake.

With Ikigai Vol. 2 on the horizon, Olamide is set to continue his reign in the Nigerian music industry and further build on his legendary career.
