Big news for Everybody Loves Jenifa fans! Funke Akindele’s hit movie is going global, as it’s been acquired for theatrical distribution across six continents. While FilmOne Entertainment will continue to handle the movie’s distribution in Nigeria, Nile Media has secured the rights to take the film to audiences worldwide.
In an exciting Instagram post, Nile Media shared the news, revealing that Everybody Loves Jenifa will be the first Nigerian film to hit theaters in 30 countries across six continents. The film will have its exclusive UK premiere at Odeon Cinemas in Greenwich on December 20, 2024, with screenings also scheduled in countries like Italy, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Belgium, and Canada. Talk about worldwide reach!
This global deal is another milestone for Nile Media, a company founded by Moses Babatope after his exit from FilmOne Entertainment. Since launching less than a year ago, Nile Media has made waves in the industry. They’ve already acquired the rights to distribute Wives on Strike 3 internationally and introduced a new ticket voucher system for movie lovers to pre-order tickets before showtime. And that’s not all – Nile Media has also partnered with the Ooni of Ife to manage Ojaja Cinemas, with plans to launch 1,000 screens across Nigeria!
With Everybody Loves Jenifa going international, it’s clear that Nigerian cinema is gaining more global recognition. Fans across the world can look forward to catching this comedy sensation in theaters soon!
