In a remarkable achievement, Burna Boy has become the first Nigerian artist to have two albums exceed 1 billion streams on Spotify. This milestone was reached after his 2019 album African Giant crossed the 1 billion mark, joining his 2022 release Love, Damini, which has accumulated over 1.3 billion streams.

African Giant was released a year after Burna Boy’s global breakout, fueled by the viral success of his 2018 single YE from the album Outside. The album solidified his position as a major figure in global music, with hit tracks like On The Low and Gbona, both of which earned platinum certification in France. Other standout songs from African Giant include Anybody, Dangote, Omo, Killin Dem (featuring Zlatan), and Gum Body (featuring Jorja Smith).

On The Low remains the most streamed track on the album, with over 304 million Spotify streams, followed by Gbona with 185 million streams, and Anybody at 90 million streams.

Meanwhile, Love, Damini is Burna Boy’s most commercially successful project to date, featuring the global hit Last Last, which has surpassed 451 million streams, and For Your Hand, a collaboration with Ed Sheeran that has racked up 289 million streams.

With two albums now exceeding a billion streams, Burna Boy continues to break new ground for Nigerian and African music, further cementing his status as one of the continent’s top musical exports.
