NIGERIAN ARTISTS DOMINATE THE AFROBEATS CATEGORY AT THE 2024 VMAS

Nigerian musicians have made a significant impact at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards with several top Afrobeats stars receiving nominations.

Burna Boy, Tems, Ayra Starr, Davido, Lojay, and Pheelz are among the nominees in the Best Afrobeats category, highlighting the global appeal of the genre.

Burna Boy’s track “City Boy,” Tems’ “Love Me JeJe,” and Ayra Starr’s “Last Heartbreak Song” featuring Giveon are all nominated. Pheelz is recognized for his role on Usher’s “Ruin,” while Davido and Lojay are acknowledged for their contributions to Chris Brown’s “Sensational.”

South African star Tyla earned a nomination for her global smash hit ‘Water’.
