Controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been released from prison. Bobrisky was previously convicted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on April 5 for mutilating naira notes, specifically for spraying the currency at parties. He pleaded guilty to four counts of naira abuse before Justice A.O. Awogboro at the Federal High Court in Lagos and was detained at Kirikiri Correctional Centre without an option for a fine.
On Monday, August 5, 2024, Bobrisky was released after six months in prison. A video circulating online shows him celebrating with friends and enjoying the song “Egwu” by Mohbad and Chike. Appearing with actress Eniola Ajao, Bobrisky said, “I’ve missed you guys so much. I can’t wait to have you guys and give you what you’ve missed.”
